13's Black - Hailey Thomas - Head Coach This will be Hailey's 1st season coaching for the Aces. Hailey has played competitive volleyball at the High School, Select and Collegiate level. She was a 4-year scholarship athlete at Illinois State University. After college she coach for a Bloomington Illinois area high school were she was also the Conditioning Coach. She also served as a volleyball subject matter expert for the Bloomington-Normal FCA Chapter. Since moving to the St. Louis Area with her husband, she has been training athletes on a one-on-one basis for volleyball, as well as general sports conditioning. Hailey is very passionate about volleyball and has learned through coaching how much she loves helping young athletes grow.
13's Black - Taylor Beyers - Assistant Coach This will be Taylor's 1st season coaching for the Aces. Taylor has been a life long player, fan and coach of both volleyball and softball. She graduated for Pana High School in Pana, IL in 2011. Taylor was a four (4) year Scholar Athlete on the volleyball, basketball and softball teams. While on the volleyball team she was awarded with numerous awards ranging from Most Service Points & Aces to the peppiest person and the team cheerleader when she was out with an injury. Taylor helped at all the youth camps and was a "Coach" to the members of the camp. In softball Taylor was selected for First Team All-Conference both her Junior and Senior years and was honored with being selected for the All-State Team her Senior year. Taylor is recently attending Webster University and is majoring in Elementary and Special Education with hopes of working towards a career in teaching and coaching.
14's Black - Lydia Pacheco - Head Coach This will be Lydia's 1st season coaching for the Aces. Lydia has over 13-yrs experience playing volleyball. She has played competitive volleyball at the High School and Select level as well as participating on an All-Woman Rec League for Puerto Rico. Lydia was a Varsity player her Freshman year for Principia High School and her Sophomore Year for Parkway West where she helped the team advance to State. She spent 4-yrs playing competitive volleyball for Team Momentum. She was the Assistant Varsity Coach for an Iowa High School and she continues to playing in Women's & Co-Ed Leagues in the St. Louis Area. Lydia has a strong passion for the sport and enjoys teaching the fundemental skills that will lead to great performance and success in the overall game.
14's Royal-Bob Heimer- Head Coach & Director of Coaching This will be Bob's 3rd season coaching for the Aces. Prior to joining Aces VBC Bob coached 2-yrs of club-level volleyball with the North Country Region in Minnesota and is currently the Varsity Head Volleyball Coach at Trinity Catholic High School. Bob successfully coached his teams (15's and 16's teams) through many tournaments, culminating in 2004 with a Gold Medal win in the Gold Division at the Star of the North State Games in Minneapoolis, MN. His 1st year with the Aces he coached is 15's team to a Silver Medal finish in the Bronze Division of the Gateway Regional Championships in 2011.He is IMPACT Certified and he strives to instill the teamwork mentality. The ultimate goal is to play as a team and always practice good sportsmanship and skills.
15's Royal & 15's Black- Lloyd Givens- Head Coach This will be Lloyd's 3rd season coaching for Aces VBC. Lloyd was a 4-yr player for Ritenour High School and also played two years club ball for Missouri Thunder. Currently, he is playing collegiate volleyball for Lindenwood University-Belleville and is still playing club and on coed teams in the off season. He helped out with both girls and boys teams at Ritenour High School . Lloyd wishes to challenge players to play and practice to the best of their ability by setting goals and helping to accomplish them. If you set your goals high and continue to raise the bar, you will be unstoppable.
15's Royal & 15's Black -Kathy Dougherty- Assitant Coach & Club Co-Director This will be Kathy's 3rd season coaching for Aces VBC with Lloyd Givens & 2nd season with RJ Dougherty. She has 4-yrs Club, 7-yrs CYC and 3-yrs Jr. Sand Volleyball coaching experience. She is IMPACT certified and believes that volleyball should be coached the same way it is meant to be played; with intensity, a focus on improving fundementals & increasing athleticsm. These are the essential keys to improvement and success on the court.
15's Royal & 15's Black -RJ Dougherty- Assistant Coach & P.R & Website Director This will be RJ's 2nd season coaching for Aces VBC with Lloyd & Kathy. He has 17-yrs CYC coaching experience and 5-yrs Club soccer coaching experience. He is IMPACT certified and has a passion for coaching youth sports. He feels there is so much untouched potential that can come out with good coaching and believes that if you work hard, you see results, if you cheat, you only cheat yourself. His main focus is to make sure all players are working hard, focusing and improving individually while having fun, working as a team and learning new skills.
16's Royal-Brittney Maass - Aces Tournament & Special Events Coordinator This will be Brittney's 4th season coaching for Aces VBC. She is has been playing volleyball for 12-yrs and played under Club Director Janet Hall for North County Aces during her 15's, 16's and 17's seasons. She played her 18's with St. Charles Xplosion. Brittany played her high school career at Westminster Christian Academy and her collegiate volleyball at Truman State University. Brittney currently plays recreationally at UMSL and sand volleyball at Newtown.
16's Royal - Tim Cummins - Uniform & Equipment Coordinator This will be Tim's 3rd season coaching for Aces VBC. Tim has played 10-yrs of competative volleyball. Tim specialized in Defense and Setting. Tim played his high school career for Fort Zumwalt South High School were he was the DS as well as Setter and club volleyball for St. Charles United were he played Libero/DS.
17's Black- Katie Hall - Co-Head Coach & Club Secretary This will be Katie's 6th season coaching for Aces VBC. Katie is a former 4-yr player for the club. On the court Katie was equally impressive. While playing for McClure North High School where she helped them win a District Title, Katie was selected All-District her Junior and Senior Year. She was also all Conference her Junior Year. She ended her playing career by playing for Florissant Valley Community College. Katie's teams have won a number of medals and this past season they finished 2nd in the Copper Regional.
17's Black-Sara Asmus- Co-Head Coach This will be Sara's 4th season coaching for Aces VBC. Sara played 4-yrs of high school while coaching a youth instructional league in Kirkwood (KVA) for 2-yrs. She played 3-yrs club ball for St. Louis Spirits and 3-yrs of club volleyball in college. She also coached the Freshman Team at Clyde C. Miller Academy for a season. She has a strong fundamental knowledge of volleyball skills and great leadership skills. Her current position is Administrator of Enrichment Programs and After School Activities at Saint Louis Language Immersion School which includes building youth sports and fitness programs for students K-6th Grade.
17's White - Janet Hall - Head Coach & Club Director Helped to start this club over 10-yrs ago and has coached for the past 21-yrs for Florissant CYC and 10-yrs for the Aces VBC as well as being the Club Director for the past 5 seasons. Her coaching philosophy is to provide athletes with an informative, focused and fun atmosphere where we can build proper fundamental skilss an progress to a higher level of competative volleyball. One of her specific goals is to develop many complete and well rounded players that encompass all aspects of the game. Through volleyball players learn the importance of teamwork, discipline, commitment, success and failure. She believes that the knowledge players gain thru sports can be directly applied to their experiences down the road and it will assist them with future challenges.
